BAJAUR: A horrific bombing in Tehsil Khar of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district on Wednesday claimed the lives of at least five people, including Assistant Commissioner Nawagai Faisal Ismail.
The explosion, which targeted a government vehicle using a remote-controlled device, happened close to Mela Ground in the Phatak Mela region, according to Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Shahid Ali Khan.
Tehsildar Abdul Wakeel, two police officers, and a bystander were also killed in the attack. Eleven other people, including five police officers, were also hurt and sent to local hospitals to receive treatment. To yet, no group has taken credit for the incident.
Security personnel surrounded the area after the attack and began an investigation to find and capture the attackers.
