GILGIT: Authorities reported Friday that a glacial lake outburst in the Ghizer area of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) has once again caused flooding and extensive damage, resulting in the development of an artificial lake.
According to GB government spokeswoman Faizullah Firaq, water and devastation were caused by the glacier burst in Tali Das in the Gupis area of Ghizer.
According to him, numerous communities were flooded, resulting in significant financial losses. But as of yet, no human casualties have been reported.
The district administration claims that the Gilgit–Shandur Road is totally blocked due to landslides. The Raushan settlement was blocked off by landslides that came from both sides of the Tali Das stream.
