In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s flood-affected regions, where more than 164,000 people have received treatment thus far, diseases have spread quickly, province Health Secretary Shahidullah stated on Friday.
A province Health Department report claims that waterborne and infectious diseases, such as cholera, dengue, malaria, respiratory, and skin infections, are rapidly increasing in flood-affected districts. More than 35 incidences of dog and snake bites have also been reported, the paper continued.
A total of 2,506 cholera cases, including 116 individuals with bloody diarrhea, have been documented in 11 districts, according to the health department paper. 1,112 people have received treatment thus far.
With 823 cholera cases, Lower Dir had the most, followed by Swat with 591.
