ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar was called for the third time by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday in the issue of the missing Baloch students.
The court orders issued before its bench deferred today’s hearing till February 28.
“Caretaker prime minister should not consider coming to court as an insult,” Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, who leads the bench, said during the hearing.
The caretaker prime minister should present in court rather than going to Karachi for the next session, according to the IHC judge.
“No one is above the law here,” the court declared, adding that the premier was summoned because he was “accountable.”
The judge was upset about the absence of PM Kakar and reminded the Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan about the second time he has skipped appearing before the court.
Justice Kayani also asked about the other caretaker ministers, as well as the defense and interior secretaries.
However, Interior Secretary Aftab Durrani appeared in court later.
A day earlier, IHC Justice Kayani issued a four-page written order summoning Prime Minister Kakar, the defense and interior ministers, and the secretaries of the respective ministries.
They were told to be physically present for today’s hearing at 10 a.m.
Along with the caretaker premier, the caretaker ministers of the interior and defense have been summoned.
