Gandapur said that if the federal government wanted to arrest him. “Then don’t wait for me to come to Islamabad, arrest me immediately here, I am ready to be arrested from Peshawar.”
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Supreme Court Advocate Sher Afzal Khan Marwat said on Monday that his house was stormed around 2:00 a.m. by people wearing masks.
Marwat submitted the charges before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) during a hearing on the return of Baloch pupils.
IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani expressed surprise that it was happening to Marwat, an elected member of parliament and senior lawyer. He clarified that the PTI leader was referring to Islamabad rather than Lakki Marwat.
The court pondered what would happen to a common citizen in Balochistan if same treatment was meted out to an elected legislator in the federal capital.
Gandapur said that if the federal government wanted to arrest him. “Then don’t wait for me to come to Islamabad, arrest me immediately here, I am ready to be arrested from Peshawar.”
Marwat stated in a tweet that CTD police raided his house and shattered the doors, inflicting damage. “They caused stress for my family and staff, and confiscated my laptop.” I managed to flee from my home and am now in a secure location. This is an illegal raid, and I will take the IG and SSP operation Islamabad to court for this criminal crime; the confiscation of my laptop is illegitimate. It comprises my personal and professional information, which may be misused. These cowardly methods will not deter me or force me to abandon our objective, which is for a greater cause – the battle for true democracy in Pakistan,” he wrote on X.
