After giving rise to expectations that Kate Middleton would make a spectacular entrance, the British army is withdrawing.
On June 8, the Princess of Wales was scheduled to conduct the yearly review of soldiers at the Horse Guards Parade in London, according to the army’s official website. The princess’s name has since been taken down from the webpage.
The annual Trooping the Colour procession, which happens the following weekend, is preceded by this ceremony, which annually involves 1,400 soldiers. The 42-year-old would have made her first public appearance at the event since undergoing stomach surgery on January 16.
