The 25-year-old Yorkshireman was scheduled to join the Delhi Capitals after being acquired in December for £380,000.
Following his grandmother’s initial illness, Brook was unable to attend England’s most recent 4-1 Test series loss in India.
He posted on social media, saying, “My family and I are grieving, and I need to be around them now that she has passed away.”
