Harry Brook: An England hitter pulls out of the 2024 Indian Premier League following his grandmother’s passing.

The 25-year-old Yorkshireman was scheduled to join the Delhi Capitals after being acquired in December for £380,000.

Following his grandmother’s initial illness, Brook was unable to attend England’s most recent 4-1 Test series loss in India.

He posted on social media, saying, “My family and I are grieving, and I need to be around them now that she has passed away.”

Since nothing matters more to me than my family, I have learned over the past few years to put my mental health and theirs first. Thus, even though this might surprise some people, I’m confident that this is the best choice for me.
