General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), responded forcefully to the terrorist attack in Shangla that left six people dead, five of them Chinese nationals. He stated that the military “shall not leave any stone unturned to ensure that every foreign citizen, especially the Chinese nationals — contributing to the prosperity of Pakistan — is safe and secure in the country”.
Following Shangla’s Besham City terrorist attack on Chinese nationals working on the Dasu Hydel Power Project, the army chief reaffirmed the military’s resolve to end the scourge of terrorism plaguing the nation during an emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office today.
The army promises to go above and beyond to ensure Chinese nationals in Pakistan are safe.
Nation had defeated nefarious designs of Pakistan’s adversaries: COAS.
