PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General Police Zulfiqar Hameed has described the nature of operations against terrorists, stating that only targeted and not extensive operations are being conducted in the districts of Bajaur and Khyber.
His remarks followed the government’ decision to move against terrorists in the districts of Bajaur and Khyber following the breakdown of negotiations between the insurgents and the Bajaur Aman Jirga.
The KP police chief told Geo News on Tuesday that “intelligence-based and joint actions are underway in Bajaur,” and that “we have to maintain the security situation in the district.”
He explained that police had been deployed in Khar and other places. He stated that all established camps have security people stationed there as well.
