The 34-year-old’s Grand Slam-winning Six Nations campaign this year saw her become the sixth Englishwoman to earn 100 caps.
Packer was in her hometown of Yeovil, Somerset, visiting her old rugby club, where she assisted in running a coaching session.
“I’m working on my level three coaching award right now. She said to the news, “I’ve had my level two for years.
“I believe that athletics has greatly benefited me—not just in shaping who I am now, but also in allowing me to travel and make friends from all over the world.
I believe that I can give back to the sport that has given me so much by obtaining my certifications and being able to come and instruct. I’ve accomplished some incredible things.
Packer led the Red Roses to their third consecutive Grand Slam and sixth consecutive win during the Six Nations, scoring three tries in the process.
Although the back-rower hasn’t decided when to retire, she does intend to continue playing rugby.
