As it struggles to finalize fiscal targets with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the federal government will now present the Budget 2025-26 on June 10, delaying its previously stated June 2 deadline, officials said.
According to a May 9 News article, the federal government will unveil the budget for the upcoming fiscal year on June 2 with Rs921 billion set aside for development projects, well below the Rs1,600 billion minimum that the Ministry of Planning has determined is required.
A day prior to the budget, on June 9, the finance ministry announced the release of the Economic Survey FY2026, a report card assessing the performance of the economy’s main sectors for the previous fiscal year.
