Republicans in her state are criticizing Democratic congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, a 21-term member of Congress, once again for remarks she made in an interview that surfaced and seemed to compare Osama bin Laden and the US war on terrorism to the American Revolution’s founding fathers.
A March 2003 Toledo Blade article quotes U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D., Toledo) as saying that “before launching a military strike against Iraq, Americans should consider their own history to remember how powerful the mix of religion and politics can be.” Kaptur has served in Congress since 1983 and is up for reelection in November.
“If you think back to our founding as a country, we are a country of revolution,” Kaptur.
