On Thursday, the House of Representatives will vote on a bill that would prevent President Biden from preventing Israel from receiving aid in offensive weaponry.
Biden has encountered criticism from both political parties for delaying an Israeli bomb shipment due to concerns that it would be used in Rafah and for informing Israel that the United States would not contribute offensive weapons if they were directed towards southern Gaza Strip population areas.
The Israel Security Assistance Support Act would require the Biden administration to promptly deploy any weapons supplies that have already received congressional approval, while also denouncing the president’s attitude on Israel’s invasion of Gaza.
If there was any delay in weapons, it would also withhold financing from the National Security Council, the Secretary of State, and the Secretary of Defense.
