ISLAMABAD The federal government has notified an eight-member special committee to hold consultations on the proposed modifications for the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Acts (Peca) 2016, according to a report published in The News on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister’s Office released a notification stating that the special committee will be in charge of examining Peca 2016 and ensuring political agreement on the suggested changes to the Act through stakeholder discussions.
In addition, the committee will help the Ministry of Information Technology Secretariat and offer recommendations regarding the revisions. Within 15 days, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will receive the committee’s recommendations.
