The 38-year-old made her retirement from international football this year known in April.
According to Arthur Elias, manager of Brazil, Marta “brings a lot to the table” and is “the greatest athlete of all time”.
“She’s playing well, she deserved to be on this list,” he stated.
“My task is to figure out how to play in a way that maximizes her potential. She is aware, nonetheless, that you can only succeed with everyone.”
Marta is a soccer player in the National Women’s Soccer League for Orlando Pride. Additionally, she has participated in six World Cups.
She finished second in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and Athens 2004 but lost to the US team both times.
With 17 goals in 23 appearances throughout six World Cups, Marta is the all-time top goal scorer for both men’s and women’s teams.
