A further three retired army officers have been placed under arrest while former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed is being tried by court martial.
The move, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), is a component of a larger inquiry into activities that are thought to be against military discipline.
The three retired army commanders are reportedly under investigation for their alleged involvement in actions that violated military protocol and exacerbated political unrest, according to the ISPR. “Further investigation is underway against the retired officers and their associates,” said a statement.
According to the statement, the officers’ conduct that went against military discipline led to their imprisonment.
