Authorities said that a motorcycle packed with explosives had been parked in the Bhosa Mandi section of the Eastern Bypass by unknown miscreants. An explosion was set off when a police car pulled up, supposedly with the use of a remote control gadget.
A police constable, the police van’s driver, and ten additional bystanders were hurt in the bombing.
Police raced to the scene and took the injured to the Quetta Civil Hospital as soon as they learned about the blast.
It was reported that two injured individuals had critical conditions.
The miscreants’ goal was a police cruiser, which sustained minor damage from the explosion. Senior police officer Abid Jadoon stated, “A remote-controlled device was used to detonate the explosive-laden motorbike.”
