Three people have been arrested after a snow leopard cub was rescued from a private home in Gilgit Baltistan.
The Parks Department and the Wildlife Department worked together on the operation.
At just two and a half months old, the cub is young.
The cub was sold illegally for 250,000 rupees, officials claim. According to wildlife officials, the cub was found in Gilgit’s Yasin Valley, near Naz Bar Nala.
The cub was taken to a snow leopard rehabilitation camp in the Naltar Valley following its recovery. The three people who were in unlawful possession of the cub are currently being held.
