According to what News understands, William Reeve, one of the most seasoned start-up entrepreneurs in Britain, has been recruited to fill the position by London-listed Augmentum Fintech.
His appointment might be made public as early as Monday, according to a source.
Mr. Reeve was a co-founder of Secret Escapes, an online travel company that has received significant support from institutional investors, and Lovefilm, which was sold to Amazon.
He has also served as chair of well-known software startups, such as Graze.com, a subscription snack company that was purchased by private equity behemoth Carlyle, and Nutmeg, a wealth management app that was purchased by JP Morgan.
In addition to serving on the board of Dunelm, a retailer of home furnishings, Mr. Reeve is currently the CEO of Goodlord, a property technology company.
Next month, he is scheduled to retire from the Dunelm board.
Mr. Reeve will serve as the head of Augmentum Fintech, a company that has made investments in over 25 businesses since its founding, including the financial and legal services platform Farewill and Interactive Investor, which was sold to the fund manager Abrdn.
On Sunday, Augmentum could not be reached for comment.
