ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will host a significant diplomatic gathering when the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) holds its high-level summit in the country’s capital Islamabad starting tomorrow (Wednesday).
Leading statesmen from about eight nations will be present at the summit, including China and Russia, two of the world’s most powerful nuclear powers, underscoring the conference’s geopolitical importance.
A number of institutions, including the Army, Rangers, Frontier Corps, and local police, have coordinated to take comprehensive security precautions for the SCO meeting.
In addition, all business centers, wedding venues, fitness centers, and crowded marketplaces will be closed from October 12 to October 16 due to security protocols.
