Hearings on the petition were postponed until October 22 by a bench made up of Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, Justice Syed Arshad Ali, and Justice Wiqar Ahmad. This was due to AAG Sanaullah Khan’s statement that the attorney general had not yet designated a law officer to represent the federal government in the matter.
He continued by saying that since the Supreme Court would be considering a similar case on October 17, it would be reasonable to postpone the hearing on former MNA Bushra Gohar’s plea.
Ali Gohar Durrani, the petitioner’s attorney, argued that the lawsuit his client filed was not the same as the one that was heard by the Supreme Court.
He continued by saying that the two cases had different bases.
Hearing on petition of former MNA is postponed.
