ISLAMABAD: Today (Sunday) marks the 97th anniversary of the birth of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former prime minister.
Special prayers will be spoken, and a wreath of flowers will be placed at his tomb. The political party has prepared a number of programs for the day. His outstanding accomplishments to Pakistan, such as creating the nation’s consensual constitution, giving the average citizen the opportunity to vote, and spearheading Pakistan’s nuclear program, will be honored by party officials and supporters.
Born on January 5, 1928, Bhutto was Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto’s only son. He finished his early schooling at Cathedral High School in Bombay. In 1947, he enrolled at the University of Southern California.
