As part of their broader engagement on security issues under the 2019 Strategic Engagement Plan, Pakistan and the European Union convened their ninth counterterrorism conversation in Brussels on Thursday to discuss counterterrorism cooperation.
Maciej Stadejek, Director for Security and Defense Policy at the European External Action Service, and Abdul Hameed, Director General for Counter-Terrorism at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed their respective delegations.
According to an official statement, Pakistan and the European Union reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and denounced it in all of its manifestations.
Discussions on regional and international issues, such as the security ramifications of the situation in Afghanistan and other regions, such as the Middle East, were made possible by the two-sided discussions.
