UNITED NATIONS: A representative for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Friday that the secretary is paying “very close attention” to the growing tensions between India and Pakistan, denying that a possible conflict between two nuclear-armed countries is not receiving enough attention.
At the regular lunchtime briefing at UN Headquarters in New York, spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told a reporter from the New York Post, “I don’t agree with your comment, (but) we are paying very close attention to the situation between India and Pakistan.”
The Post writer remarked that Dujarric hoped to have something on it later after the UN head was asked by APP if he intended to address the leaders of India and Pakistan upon his return from Rome.
