In Gaza, where Israel has obstructed humanitarian aid delivery for seven weeks, the United Nations World Food Programme reports that it has exhausted all of its food supplies.
“Today, WFP delivered its last remaining food stocks to hot meals kitchens,” it stated. “These kitchens are expected to fully run out of food in the coming days.”
After a two-month ceasefire broke down, Israel cut off aid on March 2 and began its offensive two weeks later, claiming it was applying pressure on Hamas to free its remaining hostages.
According to the UN, Israel must guarantee supplies for the 2.1 million Palestinians living in Gaza in accordance with international law. Israel claims there is no scarcity of help and that it is abiding by international law.
