Islamabad has expressed grave concerns about its arch-enemy’s recent activities after the Pahalgam incident, which have presented grave risks to the peace and security of the area, according to Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN.
While briefing the media after the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) in-camera session, which was called at Pakistan’s request amid rising tensions with India following the attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the envoy stated that the Kashmir dispute remains unresolved even after more than 70 years.
“The fundamental issue between India and Pakistan is the Kashmir dispute, which needs to be settled in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” he said.
