On Monday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke about the current state of affairs in South Asia.
The Prime Minister’s House released a statement stating that this was the second phone call between the two leaders in as many days.
The prime minister applauded the UN Secretary General’s appeal for de-escalation and the necessity of avoiding any confrontation, and he also praised the UN Secretary General’s ongoing engagement and outreach efforts.
He reiterated his offer of a credible, impartial, open, and independent probe.
