According to the most recent count, at least 31 innocent civilians were killed and 57 others injured in unprovoked Indian assaults on several towns in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), said Lt Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Wednesday.
Pakistan retains the right to self-defense, he reaffirmed.
Islamabad referred to India’s early Wednesday morning strikes on Pakistan and AJK as a “blatant act of war” as tensions between the nuclear-armed adversaries rise in the wake of last month’s fatal attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Islamabad reported that two dozen weapon strikes were made at six Pakistani targets, including mosques and hydropower installations.
