ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has the right to defend itself “in accordance with Article-51 of the UN Charter,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz also strongly denounced India’s missile and drone strikes, which resulted in the deaths of 31 innocent civilians, the injuries of 57 others, and the destruction of civilian infrastructure.
In addition to seriously endangering peace and stability in South Asia, he said, India’s attacks had breached Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering determination to protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty at any costs.
