On Wednesday, officials in the Foreign Office disclosed that Pakistan has made the decision to rearrange a number of important ambassadorial positions in its overseas embassies.
Ayesha Farooqi, Pakistan’s current ambassador to Ireland, is reportedly being considered for the Moscow assignment, and a new ambassador is anticipated to be nominated to Russia. Maryam Aftab, the Additional Secretary for the Americas, is probably going to be designated as Pakistan’s ambassador to Ireland in the meantime.
Altamash Wazir Khan, the Director General for the Middle East, might also be named as ambassador to Kyrgyzstan as part of the reorganization. Furthermore, Ilyas Nizami is being considered for the position of ambassador in Romania, and Irfan Shaukat is scheduled to take over as High Commissioner to Australia.
