YouTube has taken a historic step by demonetizing a number of well-known AI-generated trailer channels, such as Screen Culture and KH Studio, for breaking its monetization and content guidelines.
Following a thorough investigation by Deadline that exposed how these channels created and made money off of phony trailers for unreleased movies, frequently diverting ad income to studios like Warner Bros., Discovery, and Sony Pictures, the platform launched its crackdown.
YouTube found that the films were deceptive and violated its disinformation and reuse policies even though they used IP from these studios. The site also referenced its guidelines prohibiting “duplicative or repetitive” content and misleading editing that imitates official trailers in order to mislead visitors.
