In order to verify the dates of this year’s Eid ul Adha, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene in Islamabad on Tuesday (today) to observe the Zil Hajj moon, 1446 Hijri.
The meeting will be chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad, the committee chairman.
In addition, the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees would observe the Eid ul Adha moon by holding separate meetings at their respective headquarters.
The tenth day of Zil Hajj, which also commemorates the Hajj pilgrimage, is when Eid ul Adha occurs. The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has predicted that Muslims in Pakistan will commemorate the event on June 7.
