KARACHI: The News said that Hendrina Khan, the widow of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, disclosed that the human cost of Pakistan’s nuclear program remains unsolved and is marked by treachery, about four years after his death.
Pervez Musharraf, the president at the time, promised her husband that he would be the “scapegoat” for the state’s proliferation crisis, but Hendrina claimed that Musharraf quickly betrayed his promises.
In an interview with her granddaughter that was posted on the granddaughter’s YouTube account, she said, “He accepted the role of scapegoat.”
She claimed that Musharraf orally assured her late husband of a full pardon and a reduced level of home detention. However, the terms were altered in a few of days. He was terribly stung by the betrayal.
