An open letter from international media and press organizations on Gaza was released on Thursday by the Committee to Protect Journalists in partnership with Reporters Sans Frontieres.
A total of 126 press and media organizations signed the letter.
In the signed letter, the press organizations stated, “We, the undersigned, call for immediate, independent, and unrestricted international media access to Gaza and for full protection of journalists who continue to report under siege.”
For the past 20 months, Israeli authorities have denied journalists independent access to Palestinian areas outside of Gaza.
According to the statement, Israeli assault resulted in the displacement and starving of local journalists who were in a position to report the truth.
