Michael Kurilla, the chief general of the United States Central Command (Centcom), has praised Pakistan as a “phenomenal partner” in international counterterrorism efforts, pointing to its successful operations against Daesh-Khorasan and the ongoing war on terrorism.
At a hearing before the House Armed Services Committee in Washington, he stated, “Pakistan has gone after Daesh-Khorasan, killing dozens of them… through a relationship we have with them and providing intelligence, they have captured at least five ISIS Khorasan high-value individuals.”
During a counterterrorism dialogue last month, Washington and Islamabad reaffirmed their commitment to advancing regional and global security and stability through counterterrorism cooperation.
