According to local authorities, a 4.9-magnitude earthquake that shook Gwadar, a coastal city in Balochistan, and the surrounding areas on Saturday caused a short fear among locals but did not immediately result in any reports of damage or injuries.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 40 kilometers from southwest Pasni, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) National Seismic Monitoring Centre.
It further stated that it was 14 kilometers deep.
Although there were no reports of damage or injuries, the earthquakes caused alarm among the locals.
The weather department reports that 36 mild earthquakes were detected earlier this month in Karachi as a result of the activation of the Landhi fault line, which has caused unprecedented seismic activity since June 1.
