In response to Israel’s unwarranted and unjustifiable action, Pakistan firmly stood with the Iranian government and its brotherly people, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Shehbaz vehemently denounced the Israeli assaults against Iran in a phone call with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, claiming that they infringed Tehran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He added that Article 51 of the UN Charter guaranteed Iran the right to self-defense.
At yesterday’s emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, the premier reiterated Pakistan’s support for Iran and offered deepest condolences for the loss of innocent lives in the assaults.
