In the early hours of Friday morning, Israel intensified a long-running conflict between the two regional foes by launching a wide-ranging aircraft attack against Iranian military and nuclear facilities.
The Israeli military claims that more than 200 air force jets struck about 100 targets in Iran.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) took to X to claim responsibility for the murders of three high-ranking Iranian commanders: Major-General Gholam Ali Rashid, who oversaw the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters; Hossein Salami, who led the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC); and Mohammad Bagheri, who served as the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
