ISLAMABAD As part of a significant diplomatic shuffle, Pakistan will change ambassadors in eight cities, including those of Russia, Australia, Romania, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Niger, Kyrgyzstan, and Ireland. Two consul generals have also been posted to two important consulates.
Dr. Khalid Jamali’s position as Russia’s ambassador in Moscow will be filled by Aisha Farooqui, Pakistan’s ambassador to Ireland. Maryam Aftab, the Americas’ current additional foreign secretary, will be appointed ambassador to Ireland.
Kyrgyzstan will receive Altamash Wazir Khan, the Foreign Office’s director general for the Middle East. Irfan Shaukat is on his way to Canberra to take over as Australia’s high commissioner, replacing Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary.
