KARACHI: On Friday, the Sindh High Court (SHC) halted the provincial ombudsman’s order to dismiss Moonis Alvi, the CEO of K-Electric (KE), from his position following his conviction for harassing a female coworker.
The K-Electric CEO submitted a plea to reverse the Sindh Provincial Ombudsman judgment, and the court revealed the outcome.
This comes a day after Alvi was ordered to leave her job immediately and pay a fine of Rs2.5 million by the Sindh Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment of Women at Work.
CEO Alvi, top People Officer Rizwan Dallia, Chief of Security Col (retd) Wahid Asghar, and a member of the board of directors were all named in a lawsuit made by the power company’s former top marketing and communication officer.
