The nation’s senior bureaucracy has come under heavy fire from Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, who has said that many officials are buying properties in Portugal with the intention of relocating overseas.

The minister said that almost half of the bureaucracy is covertly investing in Portugal and getting ready to become citizens there in a statement that was uploaded on X.

He accused them of utilizing funds obtained through corruption to arrange a lavish retirement.

Additionally, he claimed that during his daughter’s wedding, an official who was close to former chief minister Usman Buzdar received Rs4 billion in Salami alone.

The defense minister, in contrast, claimed that politicians receive unjust treatment.
