The province is losing trillions of dollars, according to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which has expressed serious concerns about the minimum price set for the auction of gold blocks along the Indus and Kabul rivers. Additionally, it has shown anomalies in gold exploration activities.
The NAB maintains that leaseholders are openly subletting and charging between Rs500,000 and Rs700,000 per excavator every week, based on provincial government official papers. While the government only receives a small portion, their monthly income is expected to be between Rs750 million and Rs1 billion, or trillions.
