ISLAMABAD According to government sources early on Monday, India has communicated with Pakistan via the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), providing information on possible flood concerns, after a protracted period of silence following their military stalemate in May.
The sources claim that New Delhi alerted Pakistan to the possibility of a significant flood in the Tawi River near Jammu.
They claimed that the alarm was communicated by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad early on Sunday, August 24.
According to the authorities, this is the first significant encounter of its kind since the May war between India and Pakistan.
