JHELUM: According to police on Tuesday, Cleric Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza has been taken into custody and placed in jail in accordance with Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order, 1960 (MPO).
According to the police, Mirza’s detention follows a complaint against him made by a number of religious organizations.
The government may order someone to be arrested and detained in order to stop them from “acting in any manner prejudicial to public safety or the maintenance of public order” under Section 3 of the MPO 1960, also referred to as 3-MPO.
