Former US President Donald Trump announced Republican National Committee (RNC) endorsements on Monday night, with Michael Whatley serving as chairman and his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chair, according to CBS News.
Trump’s endorsement of Whatley, the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, and his daughter-in-law, who will be serving as a party official for the first time, is expected to shake up the GOP’s present leadership.
The 77-year-old Republican presidential contender also said that he has invited Chris LaCivita, one of his campaign’s senior aides, to join the RNC as Chief Operating Officer.
“This group of three is highly talented, battle-tested, and smart,” Trump said in a statement Monday night. “They have my complete and entire support to lead the Republican National Committee.
