One professor in California, who is accustomed to strong beliefs, conjectured that being a fan of Taylor Swift could be racial.
“Why do I feel like it’s slightly racist to be a Taylor Swift fan?” Super Bowl Sunday, Melina Abdullah posted something on X.
“#BlackLivesMatter organizer, Pan-Africanist, Hip Hop scholar, daughter of God, womanist, truth-teller, mama,” is how Abdullah describes herself in a post on X. She is a professor of Pan-African Studies at Cal State University Los Angeles. Additionally, she is identified as co-director of Black Lives Matter Grassroots’ activism wing and co-founder of the group’s Los Angeles chapter.
She said, “I said FEEL, not think,” in response to a user’s request for further details about her viewpoint. Similar to how I feel when I see too many American flags.” A commenter on the same page said, “Literally everything is racist.” “Indeed!” Abdullah replied.
