Parents’ and children’s relationships are eternal, but when they become adults, circumstances frequently change. Kate Hudson is involved in one of these incidents.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the Almost Famous actress expressed concern that her eldest son, Ryder, does not reside nearby.
“I wish he lived a little closer,” she adds, “but I enjoy watching him grow into adulthood. He is an adult, you know? He is out in the world, doing his thing. We’re really close, and I’m very proud.
During the conversation, the 44-year-old expresses her surprise at the age difference between herself and her eldest son, Ryder.
“That has been my wildest discovery. I can’t believe I was only a couple years older than him when decided to have a child.”
She continued, “The fact that we’ve been able to get through it together like this, and really, honestly, grow up together, has been incredible.”
Looking back on the birth of her children, she stated, “I guess while raising him, [I was] just in it and present, and then they fly the nest, and they’re sort of cooked — and they’re adults!.”
“You look back and go, ‘Wow, I can’t believe [it],'” the mother of three explained.
