Regardless of the outcome in Dharamsala, England will lose its first series under Stokes’ leadership as they trail 3-1 heading into the fifth Test.
“Just because the scoreline at the moment reads 3-1, it doesn’t mean that we’ve gone backwards,” Stokes stated.
“There are lots of these things that we have massively progressed on as a team whilst out on this tour.”
One of England’s biggest triumphs in an international Test match occurred in Hyderabad during the first match of the series, giving Stokes’ team hope that they could become the first visiting side to win a Test series in India since 2012.
