The 2024 general elections had the lowest fairness score since 2013, showing irregularities and growing skepticism in the electoral process, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (Pildat).
The Pildat, a prominent non-governmental election watchdog, has presented its assessment of the February 8 elections, showing a significant drop in fairness rankings when compared to past election cycles.
According to the research, the overall fairness of the 2024 elections in Pakistan obtained a score of 49%, three percentage points lower than the score for the 2018 General Election.
The fairness assessment scores for the 2013 and 2018 elections were 57% and 52%, respectively.
