PESHAWAR: Reports that ballots were distributed outside the polling station, seemingly in violation of the nation’s election regulations, have raised concerns about the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senate elections.
On July 21, elections were held in the KP Assembly. The opposition gained five seats while the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won six.
Eleven Senate seats were filled by a vote of all 145 members of provincial assemblies.
New allegations, however, suggest that the voting procedure might have been tampered with.
Inside the assembly, both opposition and government leaders received ballot papers, according to sources.
